Concepts of living art, from Sarah Horne and Jo Jarvis
Two prestigious names in floristry have teamed up to create a sizzling design and production team, 3-5-8 Productions Ltd. With 5 gold medals from RHS Chelsea Flower Show between them, awarded for excellence in floral design, it's only natural that Sarah Horne (AIFD, MSF) and Jo Jarvis, (AIFD, MSF) should come together for a collaboration in creative concepts showing nature in all its true beauty.
3-5-8 Productions formed in October 2008, when Sarah and Jo decided to create a vehicle for their creative ideas with flowers and plants, including a series of books and a calendar. Jo commented:
"It is a book that is brave and inspiring; showing design outside of the box: that's why we've called it Botanical Art. We decided to start with the chapter headings first to use as inspiration, and due to the intriguing nature of the designs and photographs we have produced a calendar that will whet people's appetite for what the book has in store."
With the book due out next summer, the 2009 calendar, available now, gives a glimpse into what the duo have created. Sharp, innovative design is offset by tasteful, artistic shots of a life model in yoga positions to enhance the ‘living art' concept.
The series is not only for florists, but to give everyone inspiration, as well as broadening people's concepts of floral design. It's like a floral demonstration, everyday of the year!
Not your average calendar... not your average florists!
