DONNA CANN Teleflorist designer finalist

I have been working in floristry for nearly 6 years at Susan's florist in Crediton, Devon.
I have studied at Bicton college overall for 4 years, to gain my level 2 qualification then moved on to the advanced level and then at the beginning of this year passed my level 4 qualification (ICSF).
In 2006 I entered the UK skills competition where I got through to the final at Tatton Park
This July I took part in the Teleflorist design championship competition at Tatton Park and have made it through to the final. I am delighted to be asked to demonstrate on the "New Young Designer Stand" at the Society Show.
LAUREN CURRY UK Skills advanced Gold Medal Winner
Lauren Curry - nearly 20 years old, has worked in a number of local shops and is now working at Sarah Anne's Florist in Christchurch. Lauren is a highly creative florist and very ambitious - she wants to reach the top and is very self-motivated! She is interested in all modern design ideas and elements and is eager to grab any learning experience that she can. Her new employer is delighted with her skills, creativity and drive.
ROMAINE HODGEN UK Skills intermediate Gold Medal Winner
My love of flowers developed from a general interest whilst working as an interior designer, I saw the potential for them in the design led interiors in which I was working. Gradually this interest grew stronger and I had a desire to use my artistic background in a ‘hands on' and creative role as a florist. In order to fulfill this I wanted to receive recognised formal training and therefore applied to Greenmount. Attending Greenmount as a part time student has allowed me to learn at a pace which I think is most beneficial to me. My hopes for the future would be to continue to build upon my skills through further qualifications whilst continuing to work in a retail environment.
ALISON COOPER Teleflorist Designer Finalist
Alison took part in the recent regional Teleflorist design championships at Tatton Park, when she was the winner of the Hand-tied Bouquet, the Body-adornment, the Under 25 overall winner, and the Overall winner of the competition, which proves that this young designer has a lot of talent! Alison has been in floristry for five years, having trained at Bourneville College Birmingham, before moving to work at Four Seasons Design, in Manchester. Alison's hobbies also include Textile art, Collages, using different materials, textures and forms.
CHERYL ROWLANDS Teleflorist Designer Finalist
Cheryl is 20 years of age and has been in the floristry industry for four years. She initially trained at Stockport College before working in Fosters Flower Shop, in Chapel-en-Frith. When competing at Tatton Park in the Teleflorist regional competition, Cheryl was the winner of the Best Floor standing design. Cheryl is another designer who hobbies include Cross-stitch, and dancing! Maybe we can persuade her to do a song and dance for us at the show!
