This year's show experience from OASIS® Floral Products must not be missed. Following the success of last years show we are looking to create an even greater experience for visitors. Our show offering is made up of three elements.
OASIS® Academy Competition Final
Now in its third year the OASIS® Academy Competition Final will be once again staged at this years Society of Floristry Show. Following two national heats and over 40 competitors we have decided to put eight florists through to this years final. Each finalist will have to create four arrangements, these pieces will be created at the show enabling you to observe the competition right up to its climax and prize giving on the Sunday afternoon.
The finalists will be competing for a fantastic winners prize that is not only a trophy and cash prize but also the chance to work with OASIS® Floral Products on a host of marketing, promotional and demonstrating projects.

The British Florist Association is the only trade association in the florist industry that is recognised by Government both here and in Brussels. As the exclusive UK member of FEUPF, the European Federation of Florist Associations, the BFA is recognised as the ‘voice of the industry' representing nearly 6,500 florists.
Although recognised by the Government, the BFA is not government funded, and we rely on our membership subscriptions for funding.

Hub Meetings
Free to BFA members these regional hub meetings are an opportunity for florists to chat and network with others in their area. Evenings are held once a month in different parts of the country and include both a business and design element.
Conference
Our annual conference is a chance for florists to mix, mingle and share ideas that can help both their businesses and their customers. Set for 25th & 26th October, Conference 2008 will once again combine business with design in an exciting programme guaranteed to send delegates back to their shop with practical ideas for the busy season ahead.
Competitions
As the only UK trade association for florists recognised in Europe, the BFA is responsible for finding contestants for all the major European design competitions such as Eurofleurs and the Europa Cup.

WorldSkills UK Floristry Competition
WorldSkills UK competitions are open to young people who have gained, or are gaining, vocational skills in a wide range of industries and businesses, and at many different levels.
Through our national WorldSkills UK competitions we find potential competitors for WorldSkills - the biggest skills competition in the world. Held every two years in a member country, it brings young people from across the globe to represent their country and compete for bronze, silver and gold medals. The next WorldSkills is in Calgary in 2009 and is coming to London in 2011.
Last year we had over 100 entries to the WorldSkills UK Floristry Competition.
In 2009, we aim to run five heats around the country with the final being held at the prestigious RHS Tatton Park Flower show.
If you are studying, or know of a talented, ambitious student who would jump at the opportunity to compete, then you should be involved with WorldSkills UK competitions.
