For the last two years I have been responsible for Society events, during which time we have held two fabulous and successful Annual General Meetings, at Cardiff and Leeds, while last year our Annual Show “Three Weddings and a Funeral” proved to be the best to date, with more attendees, exhibitors and exciting workshops and theatre demonstrations.
In July 08, I was judging the UK Skills final competition up at Tatton Park Garden Show and for probably the first time ever the BBC Cameras spent 3 hours in the marquee recording the competition and the final announcement of the winner of the Gold medal. Thousands of people came through the marquee and saw the standard and design skills of florists, a wonderful marketing event for the industry!
It is always my aim to get the name of Society out to members of the public, and to increase the standard of floristry throughout the industry. This is why with the Annual Show, we do our best to get Europe’s top designers for you to see and work with, in the numerous workshops we put on, so that you can improve your skills and learn new techniques.
In times when people are “Feeling the Pinch” Society is Growing, so if you are not already a member, join now and reap the benefits. Society is one big family, become involved; we are always looking for volunteers, and learn how to succeed in today’s market.
