I came into floristry rather late in life, after visiting the auctions at Aalsmeer, which inspired me to return to full time education, and to train a florist. After three years at college in Wiltshire, I left with a BTEC National Diploma, and went to work in Ireland before returning to Wiltshire. After attending workshops and seminars I obtained my ICSF (at the 4th attempt!!) and two years later passed my NDSF (1st time!).
Membership of Society has opened many doors and given me many friends who share my passion for flowers. My first active involvement was volunteering to help on publications at the EMCC, and from there I have been asked to under take numerous tasks, before joining council in 2007. Becoming vice president is a great honour which I will aim to live up to, by working for both Society and the industry in general. Like most things in life you will get out of Society what you put in.
When not working I like to spend time growing vegetables and foliages, on an allotment, walking, with or without our dog, and when time allows watching football.
